Hypochondriac, Or Just ALERT TO DANGER?

Boy, I am ALL ABOUT revealing my Inner Crazy to you guys this week! Yay for honesty! Wheee!
ANYhoo, am I being paranoid to think that if my lymph nodes under the right side of my jawbone are swollen and tender, but the left side is fine, that... That that's BAD? Because I thought it was your GLANDS that swell when you have a cold or sinus infection or whatever. This is like, right under my jaw, not along my neck or throat or whatever where doctors usually feel for swelling. And I've never heard of only one side swelling. I mean, is this like CANCEROUS? Or are glands just another WORD for lymph nodes, and am I in fact not only crazy paranoid but also frighteningly ignorant of basic anatomy?

Also, I'm just gonna throw this out there: If you have to have a bad headcold, it's not such bad timing to get it when your son is also pooping four to five times a day.

I can't help with the swollen glands, sorry. )~:

BUT, what works magic for me with diarrhea is to give only clear liquids for at least 24 hours - no solid food - until it works out of his system. Of course breast milk is ok. Although you might want to go on a liquid diet too.

I know - not fun, but it really has seemed to work with my kiddos.

I get swollen in that same place whenever I am sick. It's not a tumor - don't worry :)

I've had the single swollen gland too.

Good luck with the big D... my kids had that last week.

My son gets the swollen gland on one side every time he gets a cold/sinus infection/bronchitis. But it is never bad, or hypchondriacal (is that even a word?) to see a doctor and get his/her opinion. Feel better everyone!

Thanks for stopping by my blog and making me feel less nuts that I'm so intimidated by computer stuff. :)
And your timing on getting a cold is PERFECT!

hehe. Good timing on the cold. :)
Don't worry about the gland, since you're sick that's probably why.

I had the flu last week, and I still can't smell a damn thing. If only I had some diapers to make it all worthwhile.

I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. If it doesn't go down in a few days, then get a doctor appointment. That's all I have to offer.

Hey, loss of smell is good for once.

I've gotten the single swollen gland there for sickness, and for other awesome reasons, like having a big pimple on that side of my face.

Well, I have an earache right now and only one gland is swollen, the one under the sore ear!
