Old Reliable

Reasons why I went off the pill after about five months the last time I was on it (2004) and went with other, slightly less effective methods of b.c.:

-I felt ravenous all the time. Even if I'd eaten like an HOUR ago.

-I gained weight. See above.

-Even though I was hungry, nothing sounded or tasted very good because I felt nauseous all the time.

-I was irritable and overly sensitive.

-I didn't have much energy, even if I got plenty of sleep and drank plenty o' coffee.

-I was more prone to headaches.

Five years later, and NOTHING HAS CHANGED about the pill! It's good to know some things can be depended upon.

The Pill is ker-razy. I know it's been said (many times, many ways), but if MEN had to take the Pill, there would be VAST improvements to it by now.

Amen, Swistle.

Getting off the Pill was the best thing I ever did. I lost weight without effort and suddenly had more time between periods and stopped getting nasty headaches on a daily basis.

And this is why, once we're done having kids, the husband is getting snipped.

I took The Pill for ...hmm... like 5-6 months of our married life. Then swore off of birth control completely...I left it up to him to worry about. And that was that. I hear ya.

Yucky. I think my body is allergic to the pill.

I hope you feel better soon.

The Pill makes me sick, too. I took it for years, and had to make sure I only took it at night or I was so nauseus that I thought I was going to throw up. I had to stop taking it for good after Josie was born, because I couldn't reliably sleep at night anymore and every time she woke me up I couldn't get back to sleep because I was so sick. Damn thing.
