In Case You Were Considering It...

...Don't put "cleaning behind/under the refrigerator" on your spring cleaning to-do list. You'll think that it'll make you feel virtuous to do such a thorough cleaning, but in fact, upon wrestling the large appliance back and coming face to face with the grime that is lurking not feet from your food preparation area, you will feel sickened and hopeless. You will want only to shove the fridge back from whence it came, stand against it, gasping, and pray that what you just saw will be erased from your mind.

Then you will eat raspberry oatmeal bars for breakfast. Possibly just with coffee, possibly with a Jack Daniels chaser. Depends on how gross it actually was back there.

Kuddos for doing this. Mine hasn't been touched since we moved in three years ago. I'm sure the sight would make me want to vomit.

I'm sure mine's at least that bad. I usually send Matt back there. ;)

I am making a mental note! Take "behind the fridge" OFF the To-Do list!
And I was just thinking this morning that all my cleaning lately is done in such a frenzy that I really should take the time to do a DEEP cleaning. Perhaps ignorance is bliss in this case!

I'm pretty sure I won't be cleaning behind the fridge until the thing dies and need to be replaced, hopefully not for several years, but thanks for the warning anyway!

This is really funny, because my parents just did this--their refrigerator was acting wonky so they decided to dust the coils. They removed a ton of dust and felt all pleased with themselves--and then they plugged the fridge back in and it's no longer working.

UGH, cleaning under there. It's too hard to move ours, since it's in the pantry, so until we get a new one, this one is staying where it is. Unfortunately, it's been there since before we moved in, so God only knows what's under that thing. I'm trying not to think about it, because even writing that makes me gag a little. Ugh. I think I will need the drink *beforehand*, not after.
