Blech
Guess what I asked for (and received) for my birthday? A gym membership. Which includes free, on site babysitting. A win win, no? If I weren't feeling so CRAPPY still. I went today, and, as an inexperienced newbie who hasn't even had her initial Nautilus orientation training (wha? There IS such a thing?) I stuck with fifteen minutes on a bike and fifteen minutes of brisk walking on the track. We're talking mild, Silver Sneakers-type exercise here. And I am so shaky and exhausted and in pain now! I'm either hopelessly out of shape again already or I am still too sick and pathetic to be jumping back into exercise. In which case, I should probably not have paid for this month's membership...

OMG! I just posted about *cancelling* mine! That's so funny!!! On-site babysitting is so great. Good for you for going! :) It will get better, I promise.
Ah, that would be wonderful. Someday I hope to join a gym or at least get back to some kind of self-imposed routine for working out. I hope you get into a great groove there!
I'm sorry you're not feeling well. I hope that it's better next time.
If they have water aerobics--do it. Never had so much fun exercising. And I figure the water helps mask how out-of-rhythm and uncoordinated I am! Otherwise, get one of the gym's trainers to teach you all the machines--and give you fitness plan of sorts. Well, at least *I* have found out that I work out better when someone else is telling me what to do. Take it easy, and don't overdue it!
On-site babysitting! How clever!
Feel better soon, though.
Aw. It sucks to work out when you're not feeling well. I had a gym membership with babysitting, and having that kid-free hour was a REAL motivator for going.
It will get better. I hated going for about a week after I got my membership and then I could not get enough. Plus I love the onsite babysitting (the Y) and my kids love it even more.
