Updates and Pictures

As of this morning, I am four centimeters dilated, eighty percent effaced, and the baby's head is tucked below my pubic bone. How am I not in labor? The good doctor says confidently, "Oh, soon, any day!" I think I will be suing the man if I end up going to my due date. They did an ultrasound, too, and guessed the baby's weight to be around six and half pounds, which is very relieving to me. I can do that, I can do six-something. No sweat!
Also, I decided to break my face-anonymous policy, in a grand, "Oh, screw it, I'm showing off the whole fam!" style. I mean, I HAVE to post pictures of the delicious newborn, right, so why not do a grand reveal of everybody? Here we are- you may compliment my child's astounding beauty now!

Here are Jim and Addy in their new jerseys. Every time Addy puts hers on, she runs to the closet and makes Jim get his out, too.

Here is the obligatory hair photo. Please note that it looks better, in my opinion, when it is blown dry and straightened and styled, as it was at the salon, but I am not very good at it yet, and also it is too hot to attempt anything involving extra heat in the bathroom. So scrunching it is.

And here we have the belly in all its glory.

Here's a recent shot of Addy. Lucky girl will never need mascara, unlike her eyelash-challenged mother.

OK, you are SO. CUTE! (as is the rest of the fam)

You are positively GLOWING in light of what you have been through lately. Do you have a makeup artist?

I know, appearances are totally superficial and unimportant---but you are SO PRETTY! And your daughter is SO PRETTY! And your husband is SO HANDSOME! I LOVED seeing pictures and now want more More MORE, I am positively GREEDY for pictures! And you should have first done a "what do I look like" quiz, because I want to take one!

Hey, I know you! Nah, I'm kidding. My 3 youngest will never need mascara either, unlike me. Addy is beautiful. Eyes to die for.

Since I know you, it is no unveiling for me. But you are a beautiful family. And I love the pictures. I can't belive how grown up Addie is getting. She will be a heart-breaker. And you and Jim make lovely babies - probably because you are both good looking too. ;)

You are so cute, I can't believe what a hard time you've been having... Hope you have a easy delivery, you're already 4 cm, so that's good news, some people aren't that far when they get to the hospital.
Good luck.

4cm? I'm so excited for you!

I have to agree with everyone. You're gorgeous! And you look fab! I wish I looked half as good when I was pregnant!

I know you too, so there was no real suprise for me. I did want to say these are great pictures of you, Jim and Addy.

I'll be anxiously awaiting the news of the birth!

Ditto what Swistle said, plus I must add that your daughter has the most amazingly beautiful eyes. I am sure she uses them against you whenever she can.

Now go have that baby boy!!

Hope you guys have a shotgun ready for when Addy starts to date....she's gorgeous! And I agree with Tessie - you are absolutely glowing.

Aw, shucks! Ya'll are so sweet...
And Swistle, you're right, I should have done the quiz first. But once I decided I was ready to reveal my face, time was of the essence, you see. Because I knew I was planning on doing me-and-baby-at-hospital photos, and I couldn't have the first pictures everyone saw of me be of two hours post labor! Had to get a still-pregnant shot out there, puffy face be damned.

Just to clarify, no I am not rich. I'm not really sure how this guy got the girl.

Our very first date, after knowing each other for 2 weeks, ended in a bad car accident. My guess is that she was still recovering from an undiscovered head injury when she woke up engaged 1 month later.

Jana,
Not to worry, I've already devised plans for the first unlucky SOB who tries to date daddy's little girl.

All,
Thanks for all of the positive thoughts through this difficult pregnancy. SDH loves her blog family!

Your family (yourself included) is just beautiful! And I like the hair with the scrunching (which is what I do to my own hair as well).

I am excited to see pictures of the baby!

I find myself coming here way to often to see if there are any new baby developments, by the way. You must be going nuts waiting!

First of all, congrats on the progress! I know you are SO. TIRED. OF. STILL. BEING. PREGNANT.

Next, I'm going to second what everyone else has said... you and your family are so good looking! Especially Addy... no offense intended! She's such a little doll :)
