Enough With The Hygiene

I never thought I'd be yelling at my kid to STOP washing his hands. But I also never thought that two year olds could figure out how to drag a kitchen chair over to the sink, turn the water on, and suds up (to their elbows) all by themselves. All day long. And then messily attempt to wash dishes, dishes like steak knives and fragile wine glasses. Every time you turn your back. All day long.

I wish he was still little enough for the play yard. Or the BOUNCY SEAT. Man was that thing great while it lasted...

I know you won't believe this, but these words came out of my mouth today and were directed at MY 2 year old, "Pattie, will you PLEASE stop washing your hands!?" She climbs on the stool in the bathroom and soaps up but she can't turn on the water so she comes out to where I am with these sticky-soapy hands. Glad I'm not the only one going through it!!

Gotta love those active two year olds!

This is funny.

Gabe fights me to wash his hands every single time.

I like the changes to the blog. :)

Henry is doing the SAME STUFF. I keep having to change his clothes because he's sopping from playing in the sink.

My 2 year old does the same thing...except he likes to pull a spoon out of the drawer, and use it to drink the soapy water. Or the nasty gross water that has been soaking in dirty dishes overnight. *shudder*

I made a mistake last night. A big, greivous error. I let the girls play in the sink with two basins half full of soapy water.

Now I can. NOT. GET. THEM. AWAY.

At least you didn't bring it upon yourself.

I laughed out loud at this post!

Seriously, though...what is it with toddlers and the cleaning compulsion?? My older son was OBSESSED with SWEEPING (ineffectively spreading the dirt to even more places)...It was UNSTOPPABLE.
