Role Model

I just came in from mowing the lawn. It is about ninety degrees today and the sun is still high, so I felt absolutely justified when I dove face first into a pint of Ben and Jerry's Butter Pecan. Then Eli woke up.
My son spotted the container and began grunting and thrashing in his high chair, frantic for a taste. He is no ice cream virgin, my boy.

I have a feeling Jessica Seinfeld wouldn't approve.

Ha! My 20-month-old sees a pizza box and starts yelling, "Pee-pah, pee-pah!"

You mowed the lawn in THIS heat?

You deserve TWO helpings of ice cream, lady!

That is too funny about Eli. Whenever I eat ice cream, the CATS harass me like, well, harassers. I could be sitting there with a tub of fresh tuna and they wouldn't care, but a bowl of vanilla ice cream: HELLO, FUR NECKLACES!

I'm sorry to say that my 8-month-old is no ice cream virgin either. And to think, my first son had not even tasted juice when he was that age. Oy vey.

Hilarious.

You are a wonderful woman for mowing the lawn. i think real hard about it, but never actually do it--it's hot out there.

Just mix a tablespoon of sweet potatoes into your ice cream and Jessica Seinfeld will totally approve.

My boy does that every time he sees Cheetos. :)

YOU MOWED THE LAWN. If that isn't an excellent example of a role model, I don't know what is.

But do you really care what Jessica Seinfeld thinks? That woman puts broccoli in brownies. *shudder*

I also introduced my children to ice cream at a young age. And cheetos. And cookies. And licorice.

THAT is why I DO NOT mow our yard. Luckily Matt loves doing yardwork. I've mowed ours once, and it was getting dark and we were leaving the next day for vacation. I left a big bare spot in the back yard, so Matt HAD to go out in the morning to fix it. That's the last time he's asked me to mow. And I don't offer. HA!

Anyway, that's too funny about Eli loving ice cream. I don't think Zachariah had any until he was over a year old...maybe at his first birthday party.

Yeah, some things they learn fast don't they?

But mowing the lawn definitely entitles you to a treat.
