With #2 is was only a week, but then I wore my "fat" jeans (2 sizes too big) for another few weeks, so that doesn't really count. I'm going to say, a good couple of months is normal. Also, it is totally FINE to wear sweat pants (especially velour ones with matching hoodies) all winter long if you feel like it!Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11785640836122721190noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30354864.post-85772725901606920932010-11-12T06:41:49.284-08:002010-11-12T06:41:49.284-08:00I am scowling at all the skinny broads who got bac...I am scowling at all the skinny broads who got back into their pants so darn fast.

It takes me forever. I honestly don't plan on being able to wear my pre-pregnancy jeans until next August/September and then only because a concerted effort was made to do so. I tend to be super hungry when I bf, I am terrified of dieting while bfing, and I bf for a long time.

But I would love to wear my jeans again. I am kind of resigned to the year of fatness.Mistyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01789220521394306503noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30354864.post-7270879159868221852010-11-12T06:01:01.980-08:002010-11-12T06:01:01.980-08:00Oh nos! I...Oh nos! Don't leave us on a cliffhanger!

I was usually back in regular jeans by 6-8 wks postpartum--but these would be a-size-bigger jeans. Then in another 2 weeks I could usually get into my regular-sized jeans. HOWEVER, I am apparently one of those lucky FREAKS who loses all their baby weight through nursing--and then some. Unforunately, it only lasts as long as the nursing. I think I want another baby just so that I can get really, really thin again. KIDDING!!!

That said, I seem to recall it took longer with child #3--like I had more loose skin hanging there and getting in the way of the jeans' waistband. It still doesn't look so pretty, but at least it TUCKS now!CAQuincyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11821192974215349171noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30354864.post-14299119824873481542010-11-11T23:57:10.911-08:002010-11-11T23:57:10.911-08:00I'm going to be completely honest here. My daughter was born in May of 2009. She was over a year old. So, yeah. Wear them as long as you want to.

Can't wait to hear the rest of the story!Momma Maryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09696048453973147293noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30354864.post-40411616584553320522010-11-11T10:24:40.567-08:002010-11-11T10:24:40.567-08:00love, love, love birth stories!! It's a mental thing I guess...not having those pregnant bands on the pants :) I read your blog often (sorry I don't post much). Wanted to have a natural birth like you....after 23.5 hrs of water being broken, the lil man came out via C-section :( oh well....at least he's healthy, right?!?!Barbnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30354864.post-81490916458182899502010-11-10T17:07:32.608-08:002010-11-10T17:07:32.608-08:00This is so NEAT and WEIRD to read. I remember reading your version of my last birth and it felt very different than my own. It's amazing how different it is being the one in the actual pain versus being the one that gets to simply marvel at the beauty of it all!

And about the maternity pants. I always had "fat pants" that I went straight into after the birth. They were at least two sizes bigger than my regular size and were even a little tight on me, but I liked them more than my maternity pants - they never seemed to fit right without the big belly holding them up.Jessicahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16493721393475710385noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30354864.post-24334373621803446062010-11-10T15:26:39.552-08:002010-11-10T15:26:39.552-08:00Well, I had my baby five months ago and this morni...Well, I had my baby five months ago and this morning I accidentally put my maternity yoga pants on and spent half the day wondering why my pants wouldn't stay up.

I was probably back in jeans about 2-3 months post-baby. But they were jeans that were a little big before I got pregnant the second time. Like, jeans that I could only wear for a few hours straight from the dryer before they were falling off. Does that count?Mama Bubhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04521543145593543128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30354864.post-17103176680976084192010-11-10T15:01:24.556-08:002010-11-10T15:01:24.556-08:00Hmm...out of maternity pants...usually by about 2 ...Hmm...out of maternity pants...usually by about 2 months, I think. But I went from maternity pants to my couple-sizes-larger-than-normal sweat pants until I was actually lost the rest of the baby weight. So I don't know if that really qualifies as ditching the maternity pants.

(The bikini-cut maternity undies from Old Navy...6 years....that's right, every time I thought hmm, should buy some non-maternity underwear, I found myself pregnant again. Wait. I didn't mean I wore the same pairs for 6 years. I bought fresh ones. They were just maternity fresh ones.
